Congratulations to our Kempe postdoc Lucas for receiving Wallenberg and European Astrobiology Institute travel grants!

Salda Lake, Türkiye

Salda Lake exhibits same mineralogical and geochemical features like Jezero Crater, where Perseverance rover of NASA is currently on board and look for ancient life signatures in this paleolake.

Our Kempe postdoc fellow, Lucas Demaret received the Wallenberg and European Astrobiology Institute travel grants.

He will use these travel grants to attend the Astrobiology Graduates in Europe (AbGradE)’23 and The Biennial European Astrobiology Conference (BEACON) 2023, which will be held on La Palma in Canary Islands on May 6-12, 2023.

He will give an oral presentation about his first paper results focused on hydromagnesite samples collected from Salda Lake in Turkiye. His talk is titled as ‘Low temperature characterization of planetary analogue samples‘. Join him in AbGradE to explore life potential of modern Mars!
